1. The 180-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
At OptOutScout, we stand entirely behind our automated privacy infrastructure. We provide a transparent, risk-free window for you to evaluate our results. If you are unsatisfied with our service for any reason, contact us within 180 days (6 months) of your initial purchase for a full, unconditional refund.
Our Commitment: If the service is not meeting your expectations after our initial sweep and follow-up scans, we will return your initial payment in full.
The Process: To initiate a request, simply email support@optoutscout.com from the email address associated with your secure account.
2. Renewals and Cancellations
OptOutScout is an annual recurring service billed at $19.99 per year. Because data brokers continuously scrape and purchase new public records, continuous protection requires ongoing automated sweeps.
After 180 Days (Initial Purchase): Refund requests made more than 180 days after the initial purchase will not be granted. At this stage, multiple automated scans and legal demands have already been executed on your behalf, incurring non-recoverable operational costs for our infrastructure.
Auto-Renewal Grace Period: We understand that auto-renewals can catch users by surprise. If your subscription automatically renews after your first year and you no longer wish to use the service, contact us within 14 days of the renewal charge, and we will refund that specific renewal payment.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via your secure login portal. Canceling immediately stops all future billing. Your privacy protection and automated removal sweeps will remain active until the end of your current 12-month billing cycle.
3. Operational Realities & Success Metrics
We are highly effective at what we do, but we are bound by the realities of the internet and U.S. law. The following situations are normal operational realities and do not constitute grounds for a refund outside of the applicable guarantee windows:
Scope of Legal Removal: Our service specifically targets commercial data brokers, aggregators, and people-search engines. We cannot, and will not, attempt to remove information from official government public records (e.g., property deeds, county tax assessors, court records, or voter registries), as these are legally mandated archives.
Data Repopulation: The data broker industry is highly aggressive. Profiles will occasionally reappear as brokers purchase new databases. Our 120-day recurring scan cycle is designed specifically to catch and destroy these repopulated profiles. Because repopulation is the inherent nature of the industry, a temporary reappearance of data between our automated sweeps is expected.
Search Engine Lag: When we successfully force a data broker to delete your profile, it may take Google, Bing, or Yahoo several weeks to update their search results and drop the "dead" link from their index. OptOutScout does not control search engine caching speeds.
4. Dispute Resolution and Chargebacks
We pride ourselves on honoring all valid refund requests promptly and without hassle. By utilizing this Service, you agree to contact support@optoutscout.com to resolve any billing issues or request a refund before initiating a dispute or chargeback with your bank or credit card provider.
Chargeback Policy: Fraudulent or unauthorized chargebacks filed for services that have already been fully rendered—and proven via our internal execution logs—cause severe damage to our payment infrastructure. Initiating a chargeback rather than requesting a standard refund will result in an immediate, permanent ban from the OptOutScout platform, and the immediate revocation of our Authorized Agent mandate on your behalf.
